Four Ways To Help Beat Those The January Blues...

8 January 2018

Hey Everyone. I don't know about you but January is probably my least favorite month of the year. It has been since I was about 12 and I don't think that will ever change. I just hate everything about it. One, it means Christmas is over (biggest anticlimax of 2017 in my opinion), I feel like I've put on about 20 stone, I'm mega broke....need I go on? It's just not a pleasant month. However, I'm not here to rain on what already is a not very happy month for a lot of us. I thought that today I would do a post all about ways you can beat the January blues and things that can help you feel happier and more positive about January. Grab a cup of your favorite hot beverage and a blanket and enjoy this post.

Write A List Of Positive Achievements
At the beginning of the new year I always think it's incredibly important to head into it with a fresh, positive mindset. It's time to start a new book and even though I can understand that starting fresh can be a little bit difficult I always find that writing a list of positive achievements helps. This could be things that you achieved last year or things that positive things that you hope to achieve this year. I have done both and some of the things I've included on my list are becoming full time permanent at work, becoming part of the flight management team and travelling to many different places. For this year I have said that I will pass my driving test, explore more places around the world and become a better blogger. It is said that we can do anything if we set our mind to it so do just that and you will feel so much better because of it.

Have A Movie Marathon
January is definitely not the time for heading out and partying with your friends but there's no reason you still can't hang out. Invite them round for a night of movies and food! The movies are free and if everyone chips in for the food then it'll be as cheap as well, chips (please excuse the pun!). We all know that January is the month we all say we will become more active and fitter but as this winter is absolutely freezing and a lot of us are now back at work I see nothing wrong with setting a day aside for friends, movies and food!

Get More Fresh Air
Even though it has been absolutely freezing, something that I have been doing this year is heading outside for long walks and jogs in the mornings or in the evenings with music. I think it's the perfect way to just prepare for the day ahead as you will have a clear mind and can just prepare mentally for the kind of day you're going to have. It also gets a bit of fitness in there for the day as well. Where I live there's a massive park with a little nature area and a stream and park and it's just so lovely, quite and peaceful. I could stay in there all day. It also has a little basketball court there as well so if I ever need to vent or take my anger out on something then that is definitely the place to go for me. It's one of the few places I go to that helps me relax and feel at ease. Just make sure you wrap up warm if you choose to do this. It's way to cold out there at the moment.

Plan A Holiday/Break Away
If, like me, travelling is something you want to do more of this year than why not plan a holiday? I know January is the time where it's just after Christmas and nobody really has that much money to play with but if you're planning on going away or just fancy a holiday or even a weekend break away there's no reason to not have a browse on the internet at different places to visit. Some airlines offer package deals and even do sales in January so it's definitely worth thinking about if you need cheering up but also need to get out of the country and into some sun for a few days. Grab those holiday leaflets and your laptop and start looking around.

January is definitely a tough month in so many different ways for a lot of us but there is no reason why we can't make it as positive as possible whilst having a little bit of fun as well. If you're suffering with a case of the January blues at the moment I hope this post has helped put a smile on your face and made you realise you can potentially make this the best start to 2018 yet. Let me know if any of these helped.

What are your methods of helping beat the January blues?
Hugs and Kisses
